Work Therapy

Part of the Good Samaritan Discipleship Program involves work therapy. Each program participant is given a job to report to each day and is expected to fulfill all of the requirements set before him. Needless to say, our program participants have a wide variety of backgrounds and skills and are used in the many capacities of running a ministry. In addition to this, we have crews that have been made available to the general public for hire. (Business or Residential)

The Good Samaritan crew is available for small jobs, and a variety of handy man projects, which include (but are not limited to): painting, janitorial services, etc. Our crews can be placed in short-term or long-term job assignments. We interview each program participant upon their arrival to find their particular skill set. This interview enables us to provide you with a low-cost labor option, along with a worker who is skilled in the area in which you need help. Participants who are assigned to the work program have shown individual work ethic and desire to give their best on the job site.

We provide this service at just $10.00 an hour, far below that of temp agencies. Plus, you become an important part of the recovery process of our participants here at Good Samaritan. Ultimately, our goal is to provide an opportunity for future employment if it is available. Many of our participants placed on a temporary work assignment have proven themselves and gained long-term employment with their companies after graduating from the GSM program.

Some of the areas we have participants in now include:

  • Warehousing
  • Food processing
  • manufacturing
  • lawn service
  • automotive
  • property maintenance
  • construction
  • many more
